Twenty-six years ago Camilo and Teresa Guevara left their
beloved homeland of El Salvador to bring their nine children
to the United States. Integrating into a foreign culture
would prove to be a difficult task, but Mami Tere and Papi
Camilo believed in the American Dream.
Days after arriving to the United States, both Teresa and
Camilo began working at Everglades Nursery thus beginning
their passion for plants. And it was these early years in
the US that really shaped our family values. Hard work and
integrity, our father always said, is the key to achieving
all of our dreams.
Sixteen years and sixteen grandchildren later, our parents
were finally able to start their own business. Teresa and
Camilo had achieved their dreams. Evergrace Incorporated
began on two and a half acres with one greenhouse. Our
parents were growing 30,000 orchids. Today, Evergrace
operates on five acres of land and produces over 300,000
Dendrobiums per year thanks to mom’s continuous dedication
and passion.
Camilo Guevara passed away in 2005, but he left behind a
vision Evergrace holds dearly: a vision of honesty and love
of plants and people. This humble company continues to
strive for what’s most important, passion for the land and
passion for plants.
